Mechanical Flower

​Made specifically for an earthquake-proof shelter workshop, this shaker table added a new and novel component to a classic activity. During the workshop, participants constructed their structures using either spaghetti and marshmallows or LEGO bricks, (depnding on their age). The goal was to assess the resilience of their creations against simulated seismic forces. The built-in buttons on the LEGO robot brick enabled the instructor to change the motor speed to either increase or decrease the intensity of the shaker table’s movements as needed.
