Mechanical Flower

DESCRIPTION

Combining an Arduino Uno, a servo motor, an LED, and a homemade capacitive touch sensor—embodied as a spoon— I created a mechanical lotus. The spoon, serving as a touch-sensitive trigger, initiates a sequence of events. Upon the first touch, the LED turns on, while the lotus blooms. A second touch triggeres the reverse, closing the flower and turning the LED off. For this project I created all of the models, with the exception of the large petals.
